The better the details, the better the quote
A good 3D printing quote starts with clear information. Teker Labs reviews each request before quoting so customers know whether the print is realistic, what assumptions are being made, and what details may still be needed. The quote-first workflow is explained on the custom 3D printing page.
Send files if you have them
If you already have a 3D model, send the STL, OBJ, STEP, or CAD file. Mention the quantity, color, material preference, finish expectations, and deadline. If the part must fit another object, include photos and measurements of that object too.
No file? Send photos, sketches, and measurements
Many customers start without a file. In that case, send clear photos from multiple angles, rough dimensions, a sketch if possible, and a description of what the item needs to do. For a replacement part, include where the part fits and what broke. For a new idea, explain the intended use and any important features like holes, clips, vents, curves, or hinges.
Mention safety or strength requirements early
Tell Teker Labs if the part needs strength, heat resistance, flexibility, outdoor use, or tight fit. Some prints are great for everyday use, while safety-critical or load-bearing parts may not be a good fit. If you are testing an early idea, the prototype 3D printing page explains how prototype review works as a secondary service.
